SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS
Memorial Scholarship Winners of $1000 are:

Daniel W. Browne is a senior at Flathead High School in Kalispell. Even though Daniel is still undecided which college he plans to attend, he does know he wants to become a professor and wants to communicate to others his philosophy. He is eager to learn and thirsty for knowledge. He participated on the varsity Speech and Debate team in school, was awarded the Murphy Speech Scholarship and was one of 204 nationally to be awarded the QuestBridge College Match Scholar.

Taisha M. McWilliams attends Fairfield High School in Fairfield and is planning on attending MSU-Bozeman in the fall. She plans to pursue a degree in pre-medical studies and business to eventually become a doctor or a healthcare administrator. Taisha wants to return back to her community after college and help with rural communities who need qualilty healthcare. She worked as a Certified Nursing Aide in a medical facility and this is where she wants to return. Taisha was awarded the Chemistry Merit Award.
These scholarships were available to any Montana student, regardless if their undergraduate studies were to be completed at a Montana college or university or, at an out-of-state institution. These scholarships can be used at any accredited university, college or vocational technical center in the United States. The Scholarship Committee representing member companies selects the scholarship recipient by taking in consideration grade point average, school and community activities and their personal statement. The Memorial Scholarships are funded from donations provided in memory of rural telephone directors and employees.
